How to Cut a Pomegranate

Maven Mara schools us on the elaborate fruit

Pomegranates need not turn into a bloody operation.

1. Working with a bowl in the kitchen sink, take a paring knife and slice small section off top, revealing seeds.

3. Noting the white pithy sections (usually there are six), score the outside of pomegranate along those section lines.

4. Pull and crack apart into six sections, popping the arils into the bowl.

5. Enjoy!
