Jason’s Hot and Spicy Cocktail
keep the party going
Due to the amazingly nice weather (sun shining, birds chirping, flowers blooming, all that good stuff, etc…) we are giving you the 411 on this spicy cocktail from one of our favorite Male Monday mixologists, Jason. Not feeling the sun’s warmth yet? Drink this and you will. I promise.
1 ½ oz. | Del maguey VIVA Mezcal
1 oz. | Jalapeño & Blood orange Agave Syrup (how to make this? See directions below)
1 oz. | Fresh Lemon Juice
1 blood orange wheel for a garnish
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well (see Jason shake it up for reference) and pour into a coupe glass (buy a set of 4 from Amazon here!) Garnish with a blood orange wheel and jalapeño slice. Drink!
Jalapeño & Blood orange Agave Syrup
1 Jalapeño medium in size
8 oz. | Fresh Blood Orange Juice
8 oz. | Agave nectar
Cut jalapeño into slices then place in a frying pan on medium heat until the jalapeno’s start to sweat. Add 8 oz. of fresh blood orange juice and 8 oz. of agave nectar to the pan. Stir all ingredients on medium heat for 1 minute. Remove from heat and pour all ingredients into a mason jar and let it steep for one hour. Once cooled, strain out the jalapeño slices. This syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
*If you have the desire for more spice, leave the jalapeños in for 12 hours for a super spicy batch.
