6:30 a.m. My iPhone harpsichord alarm strums.

6:32 a.m. Convince myself exercise is more valuable than sleep… today. Flop out of bed. Tip toe out of the bedroom as to not wake the sleeping giant that is my boyfriend.

6:40 a.m. Get ready for a run outside along the West Side Highway – my daily moment of Zen – and a welcome reminder that I do live on an island which is surrounded by water. Acknowledge that I don’t see the Hudson as often as I would like.

7:00 a.m. Run. Stretch. Run.

7:20 a.m. Take in the simple beauty of the wooden path that cuts through wild grasses and cattails along the Hudson down by Laight Street. Miss California because it smells like the headlands north of San Francisco.

7:45 p.m. Jog back home.

8:00 a.m. Pandora: some Reggae station. Remember the surprising number of wives I learned Bob had in the doc Marley. Shower. Wrap a super soft scarf around me like a sarong to putz around the apartment.

8:15 a.m. Buzz through a simple 3-step skincare ritual. Thank you, Kiehl’s, for making avocado eye cream and Linda Rodin, for your Olio Lusso.

8:20 a.m. A little makeup here and there. Keep it minimal…

8:40 a.m. Head to the kitchen to make a smoothie: protein powder, All-Greens, berries…

9:00 a.m. Pause on the couch and skim through NYT and WWD. I am stubborn.  I have gone digital but I can’t give up the paper. Get momentarily depressed that the printed news may not exist one day… soon! Check email on iPhone quickly.

9:30 a.m. Pick out my favorite Helmut Lang skirt and silk top. Locate my grandmother’s Sagittarius pendant necklace.

9:45 a.m. Remember I need flowers for a client presentation and dinner party. Hail a cab to 28th Street and 6th Ave.

9:50 a.m. First stop, G. Page. Grab a few bunches of thistles and ranunculus. Pick up palm leaves at Caribbean Cuts.

10:20 a.m. Nip into the apartment to drop flowers off.

10:30 a.m. A spritz of Molecule 01 and out the door… Smile and wave good morning to the guys at Bigoli, the Italian joint below our apartment that serves the best thin crust pizza in the neighborhood.

10:40 a.m. Bike to the office in West Soho
