Hey so for those of you who know me or follow Sous Style you can see that I’m a little bit specific (crazy, o.c.d, eager, nuts) about how things look….especially food.
Food must taste good, be healthy and all that good stuff but call me superficial if you want but I believe food should
LOOK and FEEL
SEXY
EXCITING
& a little SURPRISING
A good photo goes beyond what you put on your plate – it sparks an attitude and creates a little keepsake of something awesome left long after the bill is paid or tomorrow’s leftovers.
So I am definitely behind this new contest Bon Appetit is running. It’s called “Snap + Win” and it’s all about how cuisine and culture intersect. They want you to submit an Instagram of food in your life – not just a sexy plate, but the “where?” or “why?” or “with?” that goes with it.
How to enter? Just add #BAsnapandwin to your Instagram (before October 31). For all you New Yorkers, BA is also hosting a meetup next Tuesday for extra Instagramming opportunity.
Oh, and the photo up there? My take on “food & culture”: a perfect low-key spread for an easy-going Montauk weekend this summer- ‘Sample-sized’ food.
