Ok if you’re like me currently you’re desperately trying to come up with the last minute ‘I’m so smart, funny but still attractive’ costume for Halloween. I know it. Each year I do the same thing and spend the day before buying three separate costume directions (smart, satirical and trashy) only to decide last minute to dress up as a dowdy polygamist instead. Note to self – that is not a smart nor attractive costume for a single girl.
Anyway, if your costume search is proving stressful, let’s concentrate on something really great instead like.. cocktails. Brilliant. Our advice – drink one of these scary ladies below and it really doesn’t matter what you’re wearing.

Blood In, Blood Out from Refinery29
Combine .75 oz scotch whiskey, .75 oz Martini Rosso vermouth, .25 oz Cherry Heering brandy, and 1.5 oz blood orange and lemon juice (1:1 ratio) in the glass. Add dry ice if you like.
Bloody Scary from Martha Stewart
Combine 4 ounces prosecco, 1 ounce fresh squeezed blood orange juice, 1/2 ounce Campari, and 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup. Pour a shot of black vodka over the back of a spoon into glass to create a layer of black.
Vampire Kiss from Real Simple
Layer 1 part raspberry liqueur, 1 part vodka, and 1 part Champagne in a fluted or martini glass. Add wax, licorice, or a blood orange slice for garnish.
