The Occasion: The Holidays! Usually I wake up on Christmas morning and realize that I haven’t wrapped a single gift. It’s always a mad dash to get everything wrapped and ready. I mentioned this to a few of my girlfriends and they recounted the same experience. A gift wrapping party felt like a great excuse to get together for a cozy evening with friends while also getting something accomplished! I invited my great pal Simone leBlanc who runs a gifting studio, in the hopes that some of her wrapping skills would rub off on us.

The Fabulous Friends: Clare Vivier, Deborah Kaplan, Shiva Rose, Beatrice Valenzuela, Joanna Williams, Simone Le Blanc, Greta Heichemer, Kate Mulling and Crystal Meers

The Soundtrack: The “Nutcracker” channel on Pandora

The Menu:
Cheeses and Charcuterie with olives and fig preserves
Spinach Salad with lemon vinaigrette
Butternut Squash Lasagna
Roasted Eggplant stuffed with pinenuts and spiced lamb
Persimmon Pudding for dessert

The Cocktails:
Hot spiced cider and red wine

Ok Heather! So what are you’re impress your guests tips on How-To make your presents extra special for friends and loved ones?

I think it’s about looking around your environment and scavenging for organic supplies. I pulled out all my yarn, which we mixed with twine instead of ribbon. My friend Bea brought dried flowers from her house, which led to some of the prettiest toppers. I also loaded up on simple craft paper, which I love because it feels so natural. On the flip side of that, I couldn’t help myself from purchasing a few fancy rolls of gold and silver glitter paper – mixed with strips of colorful tape, it feels super festive!

Strong Tape (for glitter paper)
Colorful tape
Silver Glitter Tape
Kraft Paper

Gold Glitter Wrapping Paper
White hang tags
Red and White Bakers Twine
A bit of flair
Dried flowers and greenery

Wrap gift in kraft paper using pink tape for a shock of color. Cut a long piece of twine and mix with an equally long piece of yarn (or two, or three!) Wrap around gift and tie in a bow. If you desire, add a dried flower or another embellishment. Give.
