PG Tips & a Seat with a View with Tracy

Sounds like paradise, no? We're waking up with Tracy in Mount Washington, LA this morning

Oatmeal and PG Tips: From the outset it may sound like we’re in England but we’re actually in the sunny hills of Los Angeles with designer Tracy Wilkinson. An Englishwoman by way of New York, Tracy and Simba Zulu (remember him?) call this place home. Tracy’s morning routine is just what we needed after that Subway commute this morning—it’s all peace and quiet. Enjoy the view!

6:42 a.m I wake up around dawn when Simba stares at me and wants to come in the bed. He’s quite large so it’s impossible to sleep comfortably with him in the bed for all night, but he always pops in for a while in the morning. He gets in and we snooze until 7-ish when I feel too hungry to sleep any more. My bedroom doesn’t have blinds because I am resistant to waking up without the the view of the mountains so I wake up naturally! No alarm clock needed.

7:18 a.m. I make oatmeal with cinnamon and banana and a cup of PG Tips tea, read BBC News Online, and check what happened overnight on Instagram. I follow a few of my friends back home in England, so they have been busy while I’ve been sleeping.

7:31 a.m. I read my e-mails but rarely respond until after showering and am ready for the day.

7:47 a.m. I feed the dog and we go out for a morning hike. There’s a trail near me in Mount Washington called the Monks Walk that we have been walking since he was a pup so we will go up there and usually bump into friends. It’s time I think about my day or what’s going on in general in my life. It feels a bit like meditation.

8:30 a.m. If I am feeling particularly sleepy I’ll go down to Cafe de Leche on the way home and grab a coffee there. I never like the coffee I make at home.

8:51 a.m. Once home, I shower

9.30 a.m. Simba and I hit my studio, which is in my home!

In our minds, everyone wakes up like this LA. Right? E-mail us! Pippa@sousstyle.com and gillian@sousstyle.com
