Festive Feelings from DJ So Super Sam!

From dinner to the decks! LA DJ So Super Sam has created this holiday playlist, just for Sous!

We promised you a festive playlist from So Super Sam, and we’re delivering! Yes, our hostess with the mostess has put together this so super cute playlist that is festive without driving you completely nuts! So whether you’re traveling back home this weekend, running errands around the city, or hanging out with girlfriends—this is the playlist to get you through it all. Catch the jams and our interview with Sam below!

Sam! What’s been going on since we last saw you?
Hey! Well I’ve been making my music, maybe incorporate some singing, we’ll see!

Nice! Describe your sound to a newcomer?
It’s all over the place! Rap, R&B, soul, indie, house…

As a teenager, which musicians were plastered over your bedroom walls?
It was all about Mariah Carey, Aaliyah, Britney Spears and N*Sync!

First album you dropped pennies on?
Mariah Carey’s self-titled album, on cassette.

So, thank you so much for putting this mix together! Tell us, how did you become a music producer/DJ?
I’ve just always been into music and performing. I was a dancer, theater kid, singer… DJ-ing was a natural move for me.

What’s on your wish list this year?
This is maybe a little embarrassing, but I just want a really dope vacuum cleaner! Dyson or Miele, please!

OK, let’s talk food. After a DJ gig in LA, where do you fulfill late-night food cravings?

If it’s before 1 a.m, I will go to Son of a Gun for a fried chicken sandwich (they stay open late on weekends!). After that, it’s El Flamin’ Taco for a pastrami burrito, California Donut in Koreatown, or I will go home and make nachos.

Ingredient you’ll put in anything? Maldon salt

Number one kitchen utensil? A rubber spatula

What’s your signature dish?
It used to be mini pecan tarts but now it’s this shaved Brussels sprouts salad with pomegranate seeds, parmesan, and toasted hazelnuts.

YUM! Top 5 meals ever?
1. Pork butter ribs at Two Chefs Eating Place in Singapore
2. The charcuterie board at Republique in LA
3. The foie gras roasted chicken at The Nomad in NYC
4. Medium fat smoked meat sandwich with fries and Cott’s black cherry soda at Schwartz’ Deli in Montreal
5. The shaved foie gras reisling jelly situation at Momofuku Ko in NYC
