Feelin’ So Good with Melissa Ambrosini
Health, wealth & love with—all in one Wake Up Call
Getting an e-mail from Melissa Ambrosini is pretty much the best way to spark up the average work day. Not only because, hey, Melissa e-mailed us, but because her e-mails usually start with Hey Beautiful and you know what? That makes us feel pretty damn good! Simple things, people! That’s what Melissa’s all about: making women feel great about themselves and the choices they make. A former party girl, Melissa found herself at rock bottom in hospital and decided it was time to expel the Mean Girl who had been trolling her mind for too many years. She’s the “straight-talking, ass-kicking, pump-you-up bestie you never had” so hit her site to read her perspective on all things health, wealth, and love. We wanted to know how she starts her day, ’cause anyone who bounds through life with this kind of positivity must have a thing or two to show us. Take a read below…
5:50 a.m. I wake up, brush my teeth, wash my face, and drink a massive glass of warm lemon water. Warm lemon water helps aid digestion and get things started for the day. I then change into yoga clothes.
6:07 a.m. During the summer, I do yoga in my lounge room or on my balcony and sometimes I go down to Bondi and do it down there while the sun is rising.
6:41 a.m. Time for my morning meditation: I meditate twice a day for 20 minutes each time. Nothing grounds me more than meditation—I love it and if I don’t do it I feel off. I meditate on the couch or balcony. I then sometimes take a moment to do some journalling and playing with Angel Cards, if I feel. Sometimes I go for a walk here if I have time and it’s sunny outside.
7:10 a.m. I head to the bathroom. I dry body brush my whole body every morning—body brushing wakes up your body and invigorates your cells. I then shower and oil my entire body: I use coconut oil in summer and a mix of organic olive oil and sesame oil in winter.
7:21 a.m. I pick my outfit for the day. Most days are casual for me. One Teaspoon or Rag & Bone jeans with a basic white Sass & Bide tee are my go-tos. Then it’s makeup time: I don’t wear makeup every day but when I do I use Jane Irdale and Eve Perez.
7:29 a.m. I head back into the kitchen and make a green smoothie for breakfast with my husband.
7:41 a.m. We sit on the balcony and get some sun while we drink, connect, and chat. It’s very important we both go into our day feeling grounded and connected. It makes our days run so much more smooth.
