Finally a summer worth staying in Britain for! We made the most of the sunshine by traveling and filming in some of the UK’s most beautiful spots—trailing Britain’s green fields and country lanes to meet with family businesses. Watch the videos below, where we go on the road to thoughtful eating, sharing fresh recipes free of grain, high starch, and refined sugar—using only nature’s finest.
Wild Beef in Dartmoor
Wild Beef is Richard Vine’s family-run business in the wild pastures of Dartmoor. They produce natural, grass-reared and grass-finished beef, which is packed with nutrients. We help Richard make a family favorite—slow-cooked beef shin stew and cauliflower mash in his farm kitchen.
Our favorite family-run organic farm, Riverford, has a bountiful summer crop and we whip up a roasted tomato and courgetti feast with vegetables and purple basil straight from their fields in Devon.
Chris Bean: Sustainable Fishing
We meet up with Chris Bean, the legendary fisherman from the Cornish coast, who has been using old fashioned sustainable fishing methods for over 40 years. Chris supplies London’s top Japanese restaurants with the freshest, most sustainable catch of the day. We make off with a few of his mackerel to make a lime, wasabi, and ginger sashimi right there on the beach.
Brambletye Biodynamic Farm and Orchard Eggs
The last stop on our trip was all about biodynamic synergy in action at Brambletye Fruit Farm. The chickens roam free in the apple orchards in East Sussex and produce the most incredible eggs. We gather freshly laid eggs and pick the first of the Colina apple crop and combine to bake a Dutch apple pancake in the wood burning oven. We top with the delicious blackberries and red currants growing in and around the apple trees and drizzle of their raw farm honey.
