Jalapeño & Blood Orange Cocktail by Jason Mendenhall
Make the blood orange syrup: Cut the jalapeño into slices then place in a frying pan on medium heat until the jalapeño slices start to sweat
Add blood orange juice agave nectar to the pan. Stir all ingredients together on medium heat for 1 minute
Remove from heat and pour all ingredients into a mason jar and let it steep for one hour. Once cooled, strain out the jalapeño slices. This syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks
*If you want more spice, leave the jalapeños in for 12 hours for a super spicy batch
Prepare the cocktail: Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Garnish with a blood orange wheel and an extra jalapeño slice.
